About Me

I am a Senior environmental science major at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, who is passionate about watershed science and sustainability.

For the past two years, I have conducted research on Shark Tooth Island, a disappearing island located in the Potomac River. I then used this local landmark to educate the public about the impacts of climate change and sea level rise. I am currently writing a research manuscript on Shark Tooth Island to be published in a scientific journal. I also recently completed an internship with the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, Maryland, where I worked on a NASA-funded study monitoring Chesapeake Bay water quality to assess ecosystem health.

My goal after graduation is to pursue a master’s degree in environmental science with a concentration in water quality. I want to continue to conduct research in the Chesapeake Bay to monitor how climate change is affecting our waterways.

I enjoy participating in a wide variety of field and lab experiences, speaking engagements, and conferences.

You will always find me smiling when I am working because I am passionate about protecting the environment!
